March 30th is National Pencil Day. This is the day to get the lead out with fantastic pencil eyeglasses that are sure to draw attention!
Did you know that Pencil the name is derived from Latin penicillus, which is a form of peniculus, meaning “brush,” If that looks familiar is it, because that word is a diminutive form of penis.
Most likely we have all used pencils which by the way do not use lead but graphite. There are a few eyewear companies that have incorporated pencils into their eyewear.
Our personal favorite is this rimless look by Optik Kultur
Henrik Vibskov and Gentle Monster for Spring Summer 2016 used a pencil temple for the runway.
Sneaking Duck’s 3D eyeglasses utilized a pencil temple. The eyewear is made from a nylon material and you can put an RX in the frames. I would not hug or kiss the person wearing this, while cool, a little poke in the eye is not fun.
