#GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity worldwide, is coming up November 27. For the third consecutive year, RestoringVision, an optical non-profit organization dedicated to providing new reading glasses to people in need around the world, will be turning #GivingTuesday into #GivingSightDay.
Following Thanksgiving and the widely-recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kickoffs the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.
On behalf of the over 500 million people living with vision impairment due to lack of access to reading glasses, RestoringVision is turning #GivingTuesday into #GivingSightDay. Their goal is to raise $30,000 to transform 40,000 lives through the gift of sight. Every dollar donated will be converted into glasses for people living in impoverished communities around the world. The first $10,000 raised will be matched by National Vision, Inc.
RestoringVision is encouraging leaders in the optical industry to join them in turning this #GivingTuesday into #GivingSightDay. Through collaboration, they aim to reach their goal and transform the lives of thousands of people who would otherwise not have access to vision correction. To join RestoringVision in this celebration of giving, make a donation today.
