Optical Blog Grog

Cathy and I like to enjoy a cocktail at the weekend and thought it would be fun to share some of our favorites and try new ones so we have a new feature the weekly Optical Blog Grog.  Every Thursday through the summer we will post an Optical Blog Grog i.e. cocktail recipe so if you have any favorites please send them in. Here is one I discovered a few years ago while on vacation in the Caribbean with some optical friends from Signet Armorlite. It is called a “Dark and Stormy”.

Dark and Stormy Recipe:

Fill a big glass with lots of ice, add one part dark rum (Captain Morgan Tattoo is the best), add 2-3 parts real ginger beer (Reed’s Ginger Brew is the best) add a big fat slice of orange or other citrus fruit and you will have a wonderful refreshing drink. We hope you like the Optical Blog Grog, please drink responsibly.

(The word grog refers to a variety of alcoholic beverages. The word originally referred to a drink made with water or “small beer” (a weak beer) and rum, …)
