Vision Expo debuted its EYE2EYE Series with a celebrity guest appearance by award-winning artist Common last week during Vision Expo East. Headlining the event, Common took to the new BRIDGE stage to share an insightful conversation moderated by multi-media personality, Lilliana Vasquez. As the first of its kind for Vision Expo, the keynote conversation afforded attendees an inspiring and empowering look at Common’s thoughts on storytelling and creativity to kick-off their Show experience.
Ashley Mills, CEO of The Vision Council, opened the session by introducing Vasquez and Common as well as thanking the crowd for their participation in Vision Expo. “By being here today and through your support of The Vision Expos, you enable us to spread the word about the importance of eyewear and eyecare through nationwide campaigns like Think About Your Eyes and National Sunglasses Day,” Mills said.
The session ended with an interactive Q+A with questions crowd-sourced directly from Vision Expo attendees. Attendees asked Common about his most rewarding projects, the impact of social media on creativity and lessons learned throughout his career.
The EYE2EYE Series is intended to become a new annual event at Vision Expo East. Following the Show, Vision Expo will gather input from exhibitors and attendees to include in the upcoming series planning.
