A Duh Moment: Virality on Facebook

People think that just because you are bloggers, you are some type of tech wizard. I am here to tell you NOT. Both Shirley and I have a huge paranoia on clicking on things, lest it be something that does something that screws up something on our website, which has happened more times than we like.

Because of that, I don’t play around with buttons and clicks particularly on Facebook, where I might get unwanted games, friends and spam. Well I just learned the coolest thing and you might already know this, but if you run your mouse over ‘the people who saw this'(in blue) under your post it tells you if your post went viral.

So what does that mean? The Facebook Help Center summarizes virality as follows:

Virality is the number of people who have created a story from your post as a percentage of the number of people who have seen it.

I don’t know what that really means, except the higher the virality, the better it is for you.
