Optical Blog Grog – Pimm’s No.1

Pimm’s No. 1 is the favorite drink of Wimbledon. I just returned from there so have to share this favorite cocktail with you. It is wonderfully refreshing cocktail and the perfect drink for a summer evening or afternoon. I can still remember the first time I drank one and that was a long, long time ago. You can buy the base Pimm’s No. 1 at most good liquor stores. It is a long, deliciously dry but fruity cocktail, with a gin base flavored with herbs. I don’t personally like the flavor of gin but I cannot taste the alchohol in this drink.

Serves 1

1 measure Pimm’s No. 1

7Up

2 slices each of cucumber, orange, lemon, sprig of mint, cucumber peel

1. Fill a large, chilled glass 2/3 full with ice, slices of cucumber, slice each of lemon and orange

2. Pour in the Pimm’s.

3. Top up with 7Up and stir gently

4. Garnish with a twist of cucumber peel, slice each of lemn and orange and sprig of mint

Drink slowly, deeply and contentedly through a straw. Please drink responsibly.
