I don’t know if any of our readers have read any of Stieg Larsson books, but I can tell you, I have not been able to put any of them down. I first read The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo about 2-3 years ago and loved it and couldn’t wait until The Girl Who Played With Fire was published. Now The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest (the last of 3) is on the top best-sellers list.
But, if you want to read this series, I suggest you start at the first book, otherwise you might be totally lost.
The stories are about a Swedish girl Lisbeth Salander, daughter of a prostitute, who has been misused by docs, government, police, her guardian, her Russian Mafia father since she was 12 years old. You learn all about her history throughout the whole series and it’s becomes fascinating on how this kid with grit, determination, photographic memory survives life with her own special code of honor. You can admire the way she doesn’t want to beholden to anyone and how she pays back her ‘debts’ yet she instills such loyalty from her friends.
Unfortunately Stieg Larsson died with the 4th work half written on his computer, so unless someone steps in to finish it, we may never know what happened to her twin sister who has disappeared.
Excellent book that will keep you going- I highly recommend it for summer reading.
