A new non profit was founded this year- United Sight. United Sight brings together ophthalmologists, local charities to provide free eye exams.
The First Event is in San Francisco Wed. October 28, 2009 -or this event United Sight will be partnering with SF Project Homeless Connect, an organization who has been producing bi-monthly medical screening events in San Francisco since 2004. SF Project homeless Connect does health screens, and refractions for those in need. They keep a list of referrals, and coordinate follow up with local hospitals to supply care for the uninsured – and supply eyeglasses and frames through the generous donations from local opticians.
