Putting Your Eye Care Practice on Facebook by Transitions

Cathy recently wrote about the importance of social media in her article Managing Your Online Reputation and we talked about the social media education program that Vision Expo West is offering. We think that Transitions is right on by providing resources and help with this subject so we are publishing this article directly from them.

Today, it seems that everyone is talking about blogging, tweeting and Facebooking, with more than 150 million people worldwide now actively using Facebook alone. Social media is no longer emerging – it is here and available, and with all of the different sites and options, it can be easy to get overwhelmed.

Recognizing the value of social media for businesses, Transitions Optical is providing a resource for eyecare professionals to join the conversation and spread the message of healthy sight.

Transitions has created a new Facebook Guide, “Putting Your Practice on Facebook,” to help both first-time and experienced Facebook users take advantage of the site as a professional tool. The guide provides general information about Facebook and social media for new users, while also providing tips on connecting with other professionals and patients, and utilizing privacy features. The guide can be downloaded at www.transitions.com/fb or is available by calling Transitions Customer Service at (800) 848-1506.

Transitions has also created an eyecare professional-focused Facebook page, Transitions Lenses: Healthy Sight Professionals, providing a quick resource for Transitions Optical’s programs and a forum to connect with other professionals. Be sure to follow us on Facebook by searching Transitions Lenses: Healthy Sight Professionals and becoming a fan of our page.

I am requesting your booklet “Putting Your Practice on Facebook” by phone since I am a novice at this level of “internetting”. I hate email so “tweeting” will be a whole new experience.
I hope the booklet will help.

You have to order the booklet from Transition. Have fun, you will probably love it, when you get involved!
