Lentes de Gafas, Como Las Hacen? Marketing To Hispanics
Written by Cathy on January 7, 2010 – 7:32 pm -Translated I think, as How do Make Spectacle Lenses. Where I got this video- Facebook.
I was being interviewed the other day about my course on Social Media. The Interviewer (Carol Patton) asked me how FB worked. Don’t know and don’t care- all I know, it’s a powerful tool to reach a global audience. Carol asks, does the ECP care about a global audience? I don’t know, so I just have to tell this story.
We did an earlier post on marketing to Hispanics, Transitions Optical also has free information on marketing to Hispanics. If you live by a strong hispanic population- put this video on your website or blog. If you offer Digital Signage from EyeStarTV, this is an excellent video in Spanish on lens surfacing that you can utilize in your waiting room.
That’s not all. I got this video from Eduardo Aguilar who works in Lindavista, Mexico City, Mexico. Eduardo is one of our Friends on Facebook and he posted this video. Eduardo has 369 Friends. If I want to build my Hispanic/Latino friend list, I can troll through his friends and invite them to be my Friend or become a Fan.
So what, I can hear it now! This is why- Your Hispanic/Latino patients have family in Mexico. They write, communicate and send money (The last figure I heard that $50 Billion dollars a year are sent to Mexico. Bank of Mexico said $16.5 billion was sent in 2005.) They support retailers that support them.
I love Mexico, Central and South America. Whenever I visit, a common, I get this ‘ Concoces a mi hermano in Los Angeles y tango un tio in Miami?’ (In my rough Spanish, I have a brother in Los Angeles and an uncle in Miami) 90% of the Latinos I meet south (sur) of the border (fronterra) have relatives in the Estados Unidos. (United States)
The Hispanics are connected and wired in and when and if they become your friends or fans, they can make eyecare recommendations to your office. This is all free marketing for the eyecare professional. How great is that?

Although 95% of EyestarTV’s video library is in English we do offer custom videos (at no additional fees) in Spanish for those practices that want to market to Hispanics/Latinos. We have an excellent translator (who is also a Spanish professor) who can help translate many of our videos to accomodate your needs. It’s very important to impress your patients while they wait. If you have many Spanish speaking patients, EyestarTV is an excellent medium to convey what makes your practice so unique. Best of luck!!
