TRANSITIONS OPTICAL’S NEW MULTICULTURAL “WHAT TO EXPECT” BROCHURES EDUCATE ON VISION CARE NEEDS OF DIVERSE GROUPS
Transitions Optical, Inc. is expanding its popular “What to Expect” brochure series to aid eyecare professionals in educating their culturally diverse patients about their unique eye care needs. Three new brochures – African-American Eyes, Asian Eyes and Hispanic Eyes – are now available for eyecare professionals to use in-office or distribute at local health events.
The new multicultural brochure series provides information and statistics on the types of eye- and overall-health issues more common among each demographic group, and also educates on the importance of regular eye exams and the benefits of eyewear options to protect and enhance sight. Each brochure explains what is happening to the eye at different stages of life and offers tips for protecting vision for the future.
All brochures are available in English. The Hispanic Eyes brochure is also available in Spanish, and the Asian Eyes brochure is available in Simplified Mandarin.
“Certain eye- and overall-health issues are more common among ethnic minorities. Unfortunately, many don’t even know they’re at risk – or are unaware of the steps they should take to protect their vision, such as wearing UV-blocking eyewear,” said Manuel Solis, multicultural marketing manager, Transitions Optical. “Eyecare professionals can use these brochures as a simple way to increase awareness.”
To request copies of any of the multicultural “What to Expect” brochures, contact Transitions Optical Customer Service at (800) 848-1506. The brochures are also available for download through Transitions Optical’s professional trade portal at www.Transitions.com/Pro.
