Full Price Eyeglasses

Thanks to Janan Starrick  for responding to our post on Helpful Hints from ClearVision Optical – The Art of the Up-sell. We liked the math idea and thought it would be a good idea to do a post on this.

I have come up with something that MIGHT help when optical customers squabble about pricing & IF they are on the fence… am going to TRY THIS with EVERYONE from now on that starts to “figure” on what is what…

THIS CAN APPLY TO CONTACT LENSES ALSO!!!!

Step 1) Ask the optical patient how long in the day are they in need of their PRESCRIPTION Lenses, whether it be Eye Glasses OR Contact lenses?

Optical Patient answer: Well I wear them all the time, for 1 Full YEAR! (or 2 years)

Step 2) so, you get the full price of Eye Glasses, with ALL Bells & Whistles INCLUDED and say, You total amount for your Prescription, High Index Progressives that give you 3 Focal areas mainly, with protective Transitions for Sunlight Ultraviolet protection & Anti-reflective protection from glare especially in the evenings, that also has a Scotch Guard scratch protection & a back up ultraviolet on them come to $700.00

Optical Patient answer: WOW, that seems like a LOT, I think I am going to shop around!

Step 3) Yes, sir/mam, before you go, I see you mentioned you wear them Full time, for the entire year until you return for next years eye exam. Is that correct?

Optical Patient answer: Yes, but that seems like a huge expense.

Step 4) OK, if you take $700.00 & divide by 365 days in the year, it costs you $1.90 a DAY to have the best clarity & good quality eye protection on your face, & since you wear them all day inside & outside the house, work, school etc, You heavily rely on them, I would imagine that less than 2.00 a day may not seem that much because most people only get PRESCRIPTION EYE CARE ONCE A YEAR, so this is not going to be a Monthly cost.

ESPECIALLY if their chart reflects a 2-3 year Gap at a time..then say, you seem to replace you Prescriptions every other year, simply get the $700.00 (or whatever their glasses cost & divide by 2 or 3 years)

I think this approach is surely worth it..the SAME with contacts also!
