Optical Organization- Getting Things Done

Shirley and I were discussing the other day, how we just can’t seem to get our daily lists completed. We need to reorganize and prioritize better our daily activities. Does this happen to you? It’s a great thing, to be busy, but if we fall behind and things fall through the cracks, we lose money, lose time, and become totally stressed out! I think it’s because we are so inundated with stuff that we lose track of our priorities and get caught up with the mundane.

  • Estimated 9 Million hours per day are spent looking for misplaced things 

I came this book by David Allen, Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity- and really liked this simple little graphic. I used it today and tossed a lot of stuff- that was littering up my office- re-prioritized the important things I need to do daily- filed away – put in calendars and already I feel better. The important thing to remember is being, keeping and staying organized and focussed takes time- you have to do it everyday otherwise it can cost you.
