My visual migranes resemble the temporary “blindspot” one experiences from a flashbulb being set off within one’s field of vision. The spot is surrounded–either in whole or in parts–with straight lines that come to a point. There is no headache or other pain. It usually appears in the center of the visual vield and makes it difficult or impossible to read for the duration of the phenomenon which usually lasts for about ten to twenty minutes. I usually experience one of these “visual migranes” about every two or three months–although I have had more than one within the same week.
