Pantone has released their top 10 Fashion colors for 2010. Pantone is the most recognized color standard from paints, to graphics to fashion colors. Every season at New York Fashion week Pantone collects feedback about the top colors and releases a seasonal report for the fashion industry.

How can you use this report?

Set aside a special:’ Eyewear Spring Fashion Colors 2010′ area in your dispensary. You can download and print the Pantone colors and sketches , put in plastic sleeves and coordinate them with eyewear.

Send out a special mailing to recall patients, fashion-eye-stas, let them know what new Spring Eyewear in the Pantone colors you will be carrying.

Get fabric swatches, paint samples, even tile samples of the Pantone colors, and display them with matching and coordinating eyewear.

Put this on your website and blog, let your patients and potentials patients know your ‘hip’ with the latest in eyewear.

Don’t forget to accessorize and put out and display your fashion contact lenses as well.

Hello fellow optical professionals glad to see this finally hitting the optical biz. Having come from the ladies fashion & clothing business for 25 years, I have been using pantone colors & have used trend services (paying for color direction from fashion trend services) for many years. In fact today I still have pantone books. I still follow Womens Wear Daily & I do suggest that ALL of you subscribe to WWD to be delivered to your shop or office. Ladies will certainly enjoy reading it and it will support & re-enforce your commitment to fashion & build the confidence level that your customers will have in you & your knowledge of fashion. IT’S A CONNECTION.
If you do have television or cable in your shops/offices…make certain to get CNN OFF of the screen. As I told one DR….I don’t care if you have to put on “Leave it to Beaver” Get the bad news OUT of your business!! You are trying to SELL products & services—no one wants to hear bad news prior to purchasing something. Negative messages never set up a positive buying atmosphere. It is ALL about the EXPERIENCE!!
Hoping a great 2010 for all…but you have to take the money……and you do that by having great products…frames, lenses & accessories. See you at VISION EXPO……you make your money on the quality of the frames you buy for your business-not only when you dispense them.
And as a rep, I & a few other independent reps, make money for us & you on the quality & the fashion of our products & the exclusivity of which we bring to our customers. Seek reps & frame collections that will give you the exclusivity that will need to set you apart from the chain stores & your local competitor. So many companies are just “slapping a name on a frame” & not focusing on fashion. If a rep has to “sell” you on the product…..the frame is not speaking for itself. It has to talk. Product is KING!! Just remember “Fashion has no price”! If they like it….they will pay the price…if they don’t like ti, it doesn’t matter how cheap it is!! You don’t make any money on cheap. Yu need products that will be your “walking billboard” on the streets.
You can contact me thru my website @ http://www.jamiehansel.com for any questions or comments. I welcome your comments…that is how I grow too.

    respectfully,

    Jamie Hansel
