Mr. John Weir CEO/President of Tura and Dr. Wolfgang Rebstock, Chairman of Eschenbach International GmbH.

Pretty incredible news! Tura and Eschenbach synergizing to create a global presence. I love it!

Eschenbach will expand their presence in the USA through the acquisition of Tura, putting Eschenbach in the Top 10 of all eyewear suppliers! Fortunately for the USA, Tura will remain independent, maintaining their staff and sales reps! Yes they will be leading the BBH sales force. Good news, that means no interruption of service. What a great combo, Tura a classy, fashion eyewear company that has been in business in the US for over 70 years, joining forces with Eschenbach (BBH) for that ‘European Styling’.

Both Tura and BBH have always focused on the independent eyecare provider with fashion forward styling and quality eyewear. Tura distributes their own brand, including Turaflex, Ted Baker London, Tourneau, Lulu Guinness and Goldfinch. Eschenbach distributes, Humphreys, Brendel, Bogner Eyes, Marco O’Polo and Titanflex.

In their own words:

  • Wolfgang Rebstock, CEO at Eschenbach Group.“Following the acquisition of International Eyewear in the United Kingdom in 2008, our merger with Tura marks a major milestone on the road towards establishing a globalpresence in the eyewear market, over and above the growth opportunities offered by the American market,
  • Peter Schwind, (head of the Eyewear Division at Eschenbach) In acquiring Tura, we intend to more firmly anchor our product portfolio in North America, and further broaden the importance of our brands. Recent talks indicate that Eschenbach has thus additionally positioned itself as a candidate for international brand licenses.
  • Tura President John Weir: “With the Eschenbach Group, we have found a partner who will support Tura’s independence over the long term. Together, we’ll be working to continue to tap into the enormous potential offered by the U.S. market.”
  • Michael H. Bork, Managing Director of Barclays Private Equity Germany. “We are delighted that we have once again been able to bring two companies togetherthat complement each other so ideally. Two years ago, we set out at Eschenbach to work together with its management to support the Group’s strategic growth on a sustained basis. With two add-ons within merely two years, we are already very close to achieving that goal,” .
