Dave Beebe (OWA), Christie Walker (Jobson) and Robert Bell (EyeCoach)
We just landed in San Diego a couple of hours ago, back from Las Vegas Vision Expo West. Cathy and I arrived Wednesday and the first event I went to was Robbie Bell’s seminar “The Law Of Selling” sponsored by The Optical Women’s Association (OWA). Robbie has some different ideas and approaches to selling that not everyone at the seminar agreed with but I personally found very thought provoking and the people at my table got a lot out of it. Thanks to Christie Walker for organizing this POWW educational program.
There were so many events to attend after this during the following three days it has become a bit of blur and we could only attend a few of them. But I do remember the OWA networking party on Friday as they had so many fabulous raffle prizes, for example a pair of Ipod’s donated by Jonathan Paul Eyewear, and I snagged one so a big thank you Transitions for my spa package. There were lots of companies sponsoring and donating prizes to this well attended networking event. This is a generous and and social industry and being one of the founding members of OWA I am very grateful and appreciative of the support that this organization receives so Optical industry ladies I recommend you join if you are not a member, it is a great resource no matter what part of the country or world you live in.

We never made it to EyeRock but heard it was a lot of fun, fabulous music and lots of money raised for a great cause. I did get to see some of the band play at Labapalooza the party hosted by Jobson’s Vision Monday for the Top 25 Labs, Web Site of the Year and Trash to Treasure Awards. Congratulations to Walman Optical for their wins and of course for being TOP INDEPENDENT LAB, a company the exhibits true leadership besides just their independence.
ClearVision Optical, being as trendy as usual had an event at Tao which Cathy went to and chatted to lots of eyecare people so I am sure she will have more to report about that. ClearVision Optical was also very generous contributing prizes for the OWA party and we will be telling you more about whats going on with Breast Cancer Awareness month and their participation with BCBG Maxazria Believe in the Cause, Believe in a Cure
We have more to report especially about product, the buzz about social marketing etc. So more to come but would we would also like to hear about any of your thoughts and observations if you were at Vision Expo West and if you weren’t what would you like to know about?
