Beautiful Sophia Loren in “Nine” – Beautiful Eyewear

I was leafing through Parade magazine on Sunday and was reading about the Oscars. There was a picture of Sophia Loren from the premier of her movie “Nine” next to Sandra Bullock. I was totally struck by Sophia Loren’s enduring  beauty and so happy to see her photographed in a wildly glamorous premier outfit wearing her eyeglasses! So good for the optical industry.  Here she is in her Zyloware (style is SLM 169) with a trendy color tint on the lenses.

There needs to be more frames like this. Many mature ladies have told me that they have trouble finding larger eyeglass frames that are not “old lady” frames. We know that Sophia Loren would never wear an “Old lady” frame!

It’s Easy Being Green With Eyewear Envy

Personally I love green and am awaiting my new Green Ete frame, just in time for Vision Expo and St. Patricks Day!  Getting in the mood for St. Patricks Day, there are plenty of green eyewear choices to be made. Many offices have stayed away from the color green thinking it difficult to sell, where in reality most redheads, blondes can wear green and many dark haired women as well, just as long as it’s the right green against skin tones.

From Classique Eyewear in the FYSH collection. I love this lime green with the black highlighting on the top bar. I know women who show wear this frame, it is perfect for those white blond women who have such light eyebrows or really any women who would love to hide or enhance their browline. Nice cosmetic touch on the eyewear.

Bentley, as in luxury cars has gotten into the eyeglass world. At the Geneva Motor Show, Bentley  introduced their own limited edition sunglasses, in collaboration with eyewear manufacturer Estede. Made with silver palladium, 18 K gold and platinum. Pricing starts at $1,900 (Palladium), $5,500 for the 17 K Gold and $15,000 for the platinum.

Available in 2 sizes with interchangeable lenses and comes in a special box with the owners name ingraved.

Victoria Beckham presented her fourth dress collection during New York Fashion Week, the designer proved that the phenomenal success her own label has enjoyed so far is neither fluke nor whim, and that she is in the fashion business for the long game. Every dress was modeled with Victoria Beckham sunglasses, suggesting these are a major category for the line. They were all round and sleek! I think we will be seeing a lot more of Victoria Beckham Sunglasses than just on the fashion runway.

So successful is the Beckham line that despite its hefty price tags it has sold out during the worst of the recession. Insiders estimate the Victoria Beckham dress, denim and sunglasses business will be worth $7.5m in sales this year.

Every time I turn around there is some new eyewear company I have never heard of! In fact, I could devote a month to just showing new eyeglass products! Here’s a new one, Serious Pimp, worn by Rappers, fighters, skaters, surfers and motox freestylers. They also have clothing and promote themselves as West Coast Lifestyle. Big into Social Media, you can also find them on Facebook, MySpace Twitter, and YouTube. Who wears Serious Pimp- besides Snoop Dogg, try Ice-T, Kimo, Quinton, ‘Rampage’ Jackson are just a few.

It doesn’t look like you can buy the products wholesale, but they do offer an affiliate program, that you can put on your website or blog and sell online, just in case you want to offer Serious Pimp Sunglasses but don’t want to stock the product.
