New Year Resolutions

OK, it is almost that time of year again when we are supposed to make our New Year resolutions. This year I am going to take the personal resolutions and see how they apply to my business as well. So for me it is the same old list really: Eat better, exercise more, lose weight
- Be more productive with my time, less TV, less crossword puzzles and more in depth reading.
- Be better at keeping in touch with family and friends
- Spend less money on conspicuous consumption
- Get more organized and recycle more
I looked at how these relate to my business, something I haven’t done before and I can see that they should. Take number 1, if I do that I will be more alert and have a fresher mind that is good for business. Number 2 is very applicable because, I know that I waste time at the computer, doing mindless tasks as those are easy distractions. Number 3, keeping in touch and networking with business contacts is always rewarding but easy to forget about. Number 4 is very important as it is a lot easier to spend money than make money and do I really need that new gizmo, not necessarily but I would like to have it. Number 5 is always good for business! OK so here is my NY resolution list for business:
1. Eat better and exercise more so I am more alert and creative. Get rid of the excess baggage – mind and body.
2. Be more productive with my time, less mindless work and more attention to what I want to achieve each day.
3. Use some of that saved time to Network and keep in touch with business friends and contacts.
4. Spend money on what the business needs not what I want
5. Get more organized and recycle more
