Free Stuff-Optical Mentors

One of the most important factors in life is having a support system with a network of people. Friends are great and provide emotional support, but sometimes you need someone that understands your business whom you can speak confidentially and be there on an ongoing basis. Speaking from personal experience just on this blog- few of Shirley’s and my friends understand blogging. When we talk about hits, keywords and SEO, our friends eyes cross! We have had to go ‘outside our box’ to find people to mentor us in Blogging. Optical Mentoring

That is where mentors come in- these are people who have been there and are willing to help you get there too. Your mentor can provide needed honest feedback without worrying about emotional repercussions. They don’t have to have experience in your industry-you have tons of resources for that. Their role is to share their ‘been there, done that’ experiences so you can learn more easily.

Best of all- many mentoring programs are free- particularly appealing if you are on a tight budget.

• National Association of Women Business Owners has a mentor program with local chapters.
• SCORE- Offers it’s business consultants free. They have local chapters and low cost business workshops.
• MicroMentor- Mentor Hook-up program helping you find or be a mentor.
• Advance Mentoring- Mentor Match program- helping you to find or be a mentor.
